Addison is getting bigger every week (as much as 1/2 lb)! She now has fingernails that reach over the finger tips and some babies even scratch themselves.
Addison is starting to get “as snug as a bug in a rug” — she is in the fetal position and head down…not too much room left in there. She still manages to find enough to kick me pretty regularly, especially if something is going on that she doesn’t like (ultrasounds, mommy sleeping on her stomach, etc.) This girl has some attitude! Addison weighs 5.2 lbs this week!!
Other fetal development that is occurring this week:
- Addison is practicing breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid to exercise her lungs.
- She has a normal waking and sleeping pattern. Many times, my movement throughout the day will lull her to sleep; while I am inactive at night, it is a chance for her to be awake and active.
- Addison can listen, feel, and see.
- Her lungs are almost completely matured.
- The baby’s skin color turns from red to pink.
I had a great College of Engineering shower last week…the nursery is almost complete! Addison has tons of clothes! One more shower to go

What a week!!
After lots of hard work, Addison’s room is almost done! Just need to hang a few more things, get the bedding and find room for all the gifts. I will put some pics up in a week or two. My Mom was here for 5 days and we did lots of shopping for Addison! She has a complete nursery and lots of new clothes. Continued…

We have a busy week planned! Mom & Barbara get here on Thursday and we will work on the baby furniture and nursery this weekend. We will also be finalizing all the details for the TTU shower that’s on Monday!
The baby’s arms, legs and body continue to fill out — and they are finally proportional in size to her head. She weighs about 3.5 pounds and is about 18 inches long and looks more like a newborn. Continued…

The baby’s lungs and digestive tract are almost fully developed. While baby girl may soon slow up growing in length, (she’s about 17 inches right now), she will continue to gain weight; about 1/2 pound a week until she’s born.
My doctor (who goes on maternity leave in 2 weeks) plans to induce me on September 4th, unless I deliver earlier…so the end is in sight. Only 10 more weeks!! Continued…

This week is shaping up to be BUSY!! The nursery will be painted on Saturday, so I’ve been prepping and getting the supplies. Mom comes out in a little over 2 weeks and I have a shower in less than 3 weeks, so plans are coming together. Keep an eye on the site…new pics and info will be added soon
It’s been really hot here the last few days, so my Water Aerobics class has been VERY refreshing!! Continued…

Can you believe there’s less than 12 weeks to go?!
The baby, who this week weighs in at about two and a half pounds and stands — or rather lies — at almost 16 inches (measured head to toe) has added blinking, coughing, and more intense sucking to her growing bag of tricks.

Baby girl weighed in at 2.2 lbs on Thursday and is approximately 15 inches long. She is moving lots. I feel her all day, everyday now. As the baby grows, so am I…I’ve gained 15 lbs!! Pictures will be up soon, I promise.
The baby’s taste buds are very developed now (with more taste buds than she will ever have outside the womb, actually). If I eat some spicy food the baby will be able to taste the difference in the amniotic fluid. Some babies will even respond to that spicy kick by hiccupping. And although hiccups (which feel like belly spasms to me) may seem like they’re disturbing to the baby, she isn’t stressed at all. It’s just one more sensation that babies need to get used to.

Fun times!
The invites are out for the shower that my Mom gets to throw! I’m looking for a caterer right now. More info will be added to the site about all the upcoming events soon.
The nursery is coming along! Most of the sewing got started this week for the nursery - thanks to Paulette (you know I didn’t do it :)). It will be painted in about 4 weeks. I’m just trying to get it cleaned and organized right now. I’ll get some more pics up soon.
I’m trying hard to stay in shape! I have been walking with my friend Amanda, who is also pregnant. Our goal is about 9 miles a week. We are also signing up for Prenatal Water Aerobics - should be fun! It starts next week. I’ll try to get some “bump” pics taken soon. Continued…
