The baby is six inches long this week and about eight ounces in weight, and is the size of a large mango.
My little action figure is able to choreograph Matrix-like moves by now. Arms and legs are finally in proportion, neurons are now connected between the brain and muscles, and cartilage throughout the body is turning to bone.
All these upgrades combine to give her more control over limb movements. Which explains all that kicking, stretching, and bodysurfing (or rather bellysurfing) I’ve started to feel - the doctor says she has “attitutde”. The baby is now also able to make conscious muscle movements, such as sucking her thumb, in addition to involuntary muscle movements.
By now the baby’s brain is also forming pockets to specialize in smell, taste, hearing, vision and even touch.

Imagine, Shelli’s daughter already has attitude — is anyone else not surprised by that revelation at all, or is it just me?? ;0)

Hey Shelli, congrats girl! The web site is awesome. Thank you for thinking of us.
The detailed descriptions of the baby’s development almost made me cry. It’s a pro life statement in itself. It is as if the baby is speaking from the womb, “I am a person watch me grow”.
Love ya girl,

Shelli,
I was so excited to visit your website today and to hear the great news! My Aunt Carol had given me the link to your website a couple of weeks ago and I have enjoyed reading your journal entries. I’m not sure if you had heard, but I am pregnant with a little girl too whom we are expecting in November.
I just called my mom and dad to let them know the news as well…and they both said congratulations. Cannot wait to see pictures of your little Addison.
