Week 27: 2.2 lbs…getting bigger!!

Baby girl weighed in at 2.2 lbs on Thursday and is approximately 15 inches long. She is moving lots. I feel her all day, everyday now. As the baby grows, so am I…I’ve gained 15 lbs!! Pictures will be up soon, I promise.

The baby’s taste buds are very developed now (with more taste buds than she will ever have outside the womb, actually). If I eat some spicy food the baby will be able to taste the difference in the amniotic fluid. Some babies will even respond to that spicy kick by hiccupping. And although hiccups (which feel like belly spasms to me) may seem like they’re disturbing to the baby, she isn’t stressed at all. It’s just one more sensation that babies need to get used to.

The nursery is coming along. Paulette got all the sewing done and it gets painted in about 2.5 weeks. I’ve also been organizing all the gift and supplies I already have. My friend Julian even started puttying the holes and stuff to help get it ready to be painted.
