This week is shaping up to be BUSY!! The nursery will be painted on Saturday, so I’ve been prepping and getting the supplies. Mom comes out in a little over 2 weeks and I have a shower in less than 3 weeks, so plans are coming together. Keep an eye on the site…new pics and info will be added soon
It’s been really hot here the last few days, so my Water Aerobics class has been VERY refreshing!!
Baby girl is almost 17 inches tall now (nearly as tall as she will be at birth), and close to three pounds (2 lbs. 12 oz. to be exact). Space in the baby’s living quarters is now at a premium, so I’m feeling jabs and pokes from elbows and knees mostly.
To prepare for life “outside”, the baby has also learned to use her brain to control primitive breathing. She is also a lot better at controlling body temperature at this point.
Other fetal development that is occurring around week 29 includes:
- The baby will be able to turn his or her head to find the source of a bright light. She is continuing to become more sensitive to sounds, tastes, and smells.
- The fat layers will continue to form.
- The head is in proportion to the rest of the body.
- The eyes can move in the sockets.
- The bones are fully developed, but they are still soft and pliable.
- The baby will begin to store iron, calcium, and phosphorus.
